Gayle’s Gable

Chapter one of C. S. Lewis’s Voyage of the Dawn Treader begins, “There was a boy called Eustace Clarence Scrubb and he almost deserved it.” Isn’t that great? Don’t we all have that special someone who drives us crazy? Eustace is that kind of someone and it isn’t long before he clashes with Reepicheep. These two go together like peanut butter and pickles, but their relationship is one you should stay tuned to because – well, just wait and see. I love Reepicheep because even though he is a David in size, he is a Goliath in heart. He does not allow his size to limit him and his courage, sense of honor, and warrior spirit earn him the respect of every man on board.

What did you like best from this week’s reading? Did anything surprise you? Are you a Reepicheep in progress? How can you be a leader where you are?
