If you are reading C. S. Lewis’s Voyage of the Dawn Treader with us, you will love Cross Training this week because the two fit together. Check out Matthew 6: 21:
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Treasure is something we value and it can be different for each of us. My son treasures his time outside playing football with his friends. My daughter treasures time alone in her room listening to music on her Ipod. I treasure time with a good book or on a long run. My lab, Zuno, treasures a long nap. (He has lots of treasure.) Who or what has value for you? Some things are not worth the value we give them. Look at the verse from Matthew again. Our hearts follow what we value. Look at the things and relationships you have:

Who or what is worthy of your heart? Who or what can be trusted with your heart? Is this temporary or will it last forever? I enjoy lots of things, like a good book and a long run, but not enough to give my heart to them. My heart is for my relationships – my God, my family, and my friends, and you. Where is your heart?
Fitness Tip: Jump rope this week. Better yet, challenge your family to a contest and see who can go the longest. Let me know who won.
