What do you think of when you think of a shadow? Funny shapes? Long and skinny? Short and squatty? Eclipses? Creepy, scary shadows at night? In Texas, it gets very hot in the summer. Shade and shadow are good things because it’s cooler in the shade. It’s also darker. Look at Psalm 91:1 (NIV):
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
Do you feel like you are in a dark place? Sometimes we can feel heavy in our spirit or maybe there are some tough things that we are dealing with. It may be that the darkness is God’s shadow. While it may seem dark, He is near. Remember, you can only be in the dark of Someone’s shadow if He is standing close to you.
Fitness Tip: Today’s Top Ten Food is green. Think salad greens like lettuce and kale, but sauteed green beans or spinach are good too. Many greens are easy to grow, so get the kids going on a container garden and see if they will eat what they grow.
