Do you know what you believe? Could you explain the Trinity? How would you define it?

Remember the old hymn, “Holy, Holy, Holy?” “God in three persons, blessed Trinity.”

The one true God eternally exists as three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—each equal in nature, equal in glory, and distinct in what they do (John 1:14; 15:26). God created all things and His redemption is sufficient for all.

One of the most amazing attributes of the Trinity centers on the oneness of the three Persons. Their relationship has been referred to as a divine dance characterized by love, respect, and unity.

Jesus spoke often of unity. He prays in John 17:20-23:

My prayer is not for them [disciples] alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one—I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

Unity.

Between Persons of the Godhead.

Between the Godhead and the believer.

Between the believer and the church.

This oneness, this unity of the Trinity, God extends to you.

Spiritual Discipline for April:

King Solomon said, “Of making many books, there is no end, and much study wearies the body.” Ecclesiastes 12:12

Back it up, Solomon. Our spiritual discipline for April is study. If books aren’t your thing, think of study as hunting for treasure, bargain shopping, or mining for gems. When God speaks and the words jump off the page, you’ll carry that find with you forever. Study benefits you by:

So, hit the books this April! Try a focus on the Easter event or take a look at The Apostles’ Creed.
